The Mater Misericordiae Hospital, commonly referred to as The Mater Hospital, is a faith-based mission hospital that was founded in 1962 by the Sisters of Mercy from Ireland. The hospital is most known for the Mater Heart Run, an annual fund-raising event conducted in various town in Kenya to raise awareness and support the treatment of children with heart conditions.

August 15, 2022 at 10:37 pmMater misericordia Hospital is and will always be a 5 star hospital. Your reception at the Accident and Emergency is excellent. It took me a short time to be in Our Lady’s Corridor ward to await surgery and at the booked timings my surgeon and my anaesthetist were there to see me before theater. The staffs from theater and at the ward level are up to it. Other services are also excellent. House keeping by Charles is👍, hot and timely meals by Daniel Macharia is excellent and my night nurse Maingi is outstanding. Keep up the good work. I have just learned that the NHIF is covering 50% of the general bed. Keep up MMH

January 13, 2023 at 11:01 amI love the services (both inpatient and outpatient). While the waiting time for outpatient services is a bit long (due to large numbers) the services are tremendous.
I love the attention to detail and empathy by inpatient nurses and the fact that the hospital respects patient privacy and dignity.

March 16, 2024 at 10:31 amthe satellite hospitals are the worst.especially thika.the lab technician is rude.arrived at 8am in the morning till 9am no service offered yet they were opened. she almost chased us out
