I spent 3 nights looking after my mother who was admitted at the Female Ward. My experience was better than I expected. Most of the staff I interacted with were helpful and pleasant. The patients’ meals were well prepared and the kitchen staff willing to go the extra mile. My humble suggestions/observations: The bathrooms are in dire need of renovation. Patients and caregivers should not dread going there. There is absolutely no privacy in the ward. Considering that some patients are bathed in the ward, partitioning with curtains is critical to preserve dignity and allow for private conversations especially between patients and their doctors. If complete makeovers of the wards are not possible, repairs of doors, windows, upgrading of beds and bedside cabinets should be considered. Floors should be mopped regularly considering the human traffic, spillage and danger of infections.
